My name is Tyson. I came to my foster mom from a commercial breeding situation and have decided that family life is the way to go! It took me a couple of days to get down the house breaking thing but I am great with it now and will even scratch to go out every now and again and bark to get back in. Generally I don’t have to as I have multiple other pups that share my home and I get along with everyone from 7 pounds to 117. There is always a door opening to let me in or out.
It has been rumored that I can climb fences so my foster mom does not leave me outside unattended and I have repaid her oversight by never offering to climb the fence. If I were left out alone and the kiddos next door were out, I feel sure I could get over it and get to them as kids are the best! They also usually have tasty snacks in their hands………..
My needle nose is into everything. It fits well into a Starbucks cup and will knock the lid right off of a pot sitting on the stove. Although I am very laid back, my largest motivator is food as I am still working on gaining some much needed weight. I have gained 7#s in a month and need to gain about 15 more. Therefore, my good sense to behave well is generally overcome by my nose sniffing out goodies and I lose my composure every time. Therefore I cannot be left in an area where I can get to full cups, counter tops with food on them or garbage cans that can be easily opened. I could very easily ingest something that would be very harmful to me in my never ending quest for treats. Also, I think the toilet bowl is my private fountain and I can lift the lid so if you use chemicals in your toilet, I may not be the guy for you. I do LOVE dog biscuits and have learned to “sit” and “speak”.
I take treats nicely and do like to play with tennis balls and the Jax and Bones rope toys. My foster mom does let me lounge on the sofa with her which I like and I am also allowed to get in the bed for snuggles if I need a little reassurance. I am not afraid of storms or loud noises and household appliances like the vacuum are not an issue. I do like to take walks and love to ride in the care. I don’t get car sick so I get to go with my foster mom on a very frequent basis.
I can be a little vocal when I find things extremely interesting or when someone drives in the driveway or knocks on the door. It doesn’t take me long to settle down and for the most part I am a very docile and chill guy.
Tyson is being fostered in KY.
