Sydney is a six year old female rough collie that came into rescue as an owner surrender. She had been left alone far more than she would have liked by her former owner. Now she loves attention and really wants to be your constant companion, but she is also very sensitive and is anxious when she is away from her people.
Sydney would do well in a family with older children or in a home where her humans would be home most of the time. Sydney does like to bark and will need someone patient enough to work with her on this issue. Loud noises seem to be a trigger for some of her barking.
Sydney loves to play with other dogs and gets very excited, she may play a bit rough for some dogs. She does chase squirrels, so she would do best in a home without cats. Sydney walks well on a leash and enjoys a good sniff when she is out and about. She comes when she’s called, and she loves to play fetch. She knows how to “shake” and give a high five, and will lie down on command.
Sydney is not a fan of being crated but will tolerate it and goes in without any trouble. She does best when she has a Kong with peanut butter to help her pass the time in her crate.
She loves to be close to her humans and prefers to sleep on the floor next to the bed at night. Sydney is a wonderful, loving collie girl looking for a patient family that will take the time to help her learn that she has a forever home where she won’t be left alone everyday.
Sydney is being fostered in Pennsylvania.
