Rhett is a male one and a half year old sable-headed white collie that weighs 57 pounds. He is a young boy that is very sweet and intelligent. He is still learning but appears to be very easy to teach. He learned how to sit in just one session. Rhett will need an owner that can be sensitive to his inexperience and can teach him what he needs to know.
He is food aggressive toward other dogs so will need to be fed separately. Rhett is now in good hands with his foster family and they are giving him good nutrition for perhaps the first time in his life. This should resolve the dryness and flakey skin he has in some places.
Rhett is crate trained and walks well on a leash, but he is sensitive to the sound of cars and bolts when he hears them. This can be resolved with some desensitization training.
Rhett can be quite the character and likes to carry soft things from one place to another. This could be your socks or clean clothes, but he doesn't harm them. He loves toys and chewing on antlers especially. He is a sensitive boy and is head shy when you move your hand to pet him.
Rhett is a young dog with a lot of potential, he will need gentle guidance and reassurance that he can let go of his fears. This handsome boy will make a beautiful, special addition to his future family. Rhett will require a physical fence in his forever home.
He is being fostered in Ohio.
