Kelly is a beautiful four year old sable and white sheltie. She is very gentle and docile and she is a pleasure to be around. Kelly was surrendered to TSCR because her elderly owner could no longer care for her and she wanted to give Kelly a chance at a home where she would have all the attention she deserves.
Kelly was a bit of a spoiled little butterball having had lots of treats from her previous owner, so she is a little over weight. She would do very well with a family that will exercise her everyday, playing with her and taking her on long walks, both of which she loves.
Since coming into rescue, Kelly has begun to come out of her shell. She was a very timid girl having lived with just one person during her entire former life. Kelly will stick to you like glue and is a wonderful foot and lap warmer. She is a great snuggler and bed partner (if permitted) and loves belly rubs.
Kelly is a loving sheltie who is eager to please. She loves to play and has become quite attached to her new foster Mom and foster canine, a two year old rough collie. Kelly gets along well with other dogs and is housebroken. She will need to have more socialization to help her become more confident, and her foster Mom is already working on this.
Kelly can be somewhat timid and skittish when she is around a group of people, but given a little time she warms up to the situation.
Kelly loves to be outside, listens well, and knows basic commands. She would do well with another dog that has the same level of energy and likes to play but will be sensitive to her small size of just 26 pounds.
This lovely sheltie girl will make a wonderful addition to any family that will give her the love and attention she deserves.
