Jace is a sable merle-headed white collie and yes he has one brown eye and one blue eye.
Jace was an owner surrender as they had given up on being able to train him. He was not house trained and frightened of everything.
Jace is working on his house training skills and doing well but will need continued positive reinforcement in his new home. Also a crate to continue to prevent accidents until he is 100% trustworthy.
Jace hid under the table when first coming into foster. Trembling and not wanting be touched. He has come a long way since then and wants attention by the people in the home. Still working on making up to strangers but doing better. He will sniff and lick their hands and allow a little petting.
He loves toys and likes to play with the other foster collies in the home. Jace might be a bit too much for older dogs as he still has some puppy in him. A fenced yard would be preferred as he was only on a tie out before coming to TSCR. Seeing him be able to run some energy off and play in the fenced yard is great for him.
He is working on leash skills, he knows sit, down, wait and sit before coming in or out the house (he was a door darter).
He is very agile and can go airborne to get on the sofa or yes sometimes his fosters lap. At times he likes to surprise his foster by appearing in her lap, one bounce and he is there. Sometimes at the most inopportune moments…But we are just happy to see him joyful and bonding with people.
Jace needs a special home as he will require an experienced home that knows how to work with fearful dogs.
He is being fostered in SE Michigan.
