Meet Aimee a 3 year old female who came to Tri-State Collie Rescue from a puppy mill in Indiana.
Aimee is such a wonderful petite little
collie. Aimee was in rough shape when she arrived in rescue. Being used for breeding purposes "only" Aimee was neglected of vet care and proper
prenatal care before, during and after her litters. Aimee's coat was in terrible shape she was very thin due to malnutrition.
Since being in rescue Aimee is really coming out of her shell. Aimee is still somewhat timid but not nearly as bad as she was upon arrival to rescue. Aimee still has a way to go to get healthy. She is on a very good diet, getting lots of love and attention which makes her extremely happy. Aimee loves other dogs and has started to initiate play with other dogs and show interest in toys which is a huge deal considering she so very shy when she first arrived.
Aimee is housebroken, gets along great with cats and is crate trained. Amy is wonderful with children.
She needs a home with a family who will love her for the special collie that she is. Aimee longs to be someone best friend. She absolutely loves all the attention, love and kisses her foster family gives her. She just can not get enough.
Aimee definitely needs a fenced yard. She does OK on a leash but still seems to hover down in a scared walking position when on a leash. Aimee is not quite there yet to be taken out and socialized. She does best in the safe security of her home where she prefers to be. With Aimee being a puppy mill dog she may never be a social butterfly, but that is OK because she has so many other wonderful qualities that make her the perfect canine companion.
Aimee was recently diagnosed with fly-bite seizures http://www.canine-epilepsy.net/flybite/flybite.htmlflybite/flybite.html
which requires medication daily. Aimee has done amazing since being on the medication and has had no seizures.
Aimee is completely vetted (spayed) and ready for her forever home.
She is being fostered in IN.
